Infected by Martin Sargent

Infected is a monthly podcast (Internet radio show) hosted by Martin Sargent. It is part of Revision3, an internet multimedia distribution company founded by Jay Adelson and Kevin Rose.

It was created mostly in part due to the cancellation of his syndicated television show, Unscrewed.

The first episode was aired on November 11, 2005. Exactly one year after the cancellation of Unscrewed

The cast includes: Martin Sargent, The Gator (Jay Speiden?), and Joseph Rabier. Regular guests include: Johnny O'Bannion, performed by Stewart Engesser, and Ricky Kang (could also be Speiden).

Infected is written by Martin and Jay Speiden, with Joey on the controls. Stewart Engesser is the writer and producer of "View From the Canyon with Johnny O'Banion", a regular segment on the the show. Engesser's own vidcast, Mysteries of Science Explained, is also part of the Revision3 podcast family.

The topics of Infected are largely based on the internet while there has been more focused shows like the recent Fashion edition, Infected 18.

There has been speculation as to whether Jay Speiden, The Gator and Ricky Kang are the same person.

The most used format of the show is to start off with a little tale, Fake commercial, then discuss recent events, then the day's look at the "High Tech Tech News Ticker", the commercial, another look at the ticker, toss to View from the Canyon or a similar Engesser segment (such as Lights! Camera! Orlando, an interview segment featuring Engesser as the voice of Orlando Bloom, as well as call-in's from Engesser as Michael Caine), then Gator and Joey making Martin tell a story.

Martin also likes giving drawing assignments to the infected army reminiscent of "User Created" off of Tech TV's the Screen Savers and later Attack Of The Show.
