[edit] Stacking and aligning multiple template boxes
Editors of St. Louis, Missouri would like to use Template:Quotebox to place directly under Template:Infobox City, and I've tried several ways to accomplish this, to no avail. How is it done (if it is possible)? Alternatively, it could be placed inside city infobox, but I'm not sure that is possible or desirable, or how to do it, if it is. [edit] Help on a specific Infobox
I have been trying to get an Inforbox on Rome: Pathway to Power to work, but I am not having any luck. I copied the formatting from a working Infobox, and changed nothing but the listed info, yet I can't get it to show up as an infobox after numerous edit attempts and format checks. I'm sure I'm doing SOMETHING wrong, but what? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Porlob (talk • contribs) 16:47, 31 July 2006 (UTC).
- There could be a bug in your PC. Or have you checked thoroughly? --Siva1979Talk to me 22:30, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Infobox - Boxing
Hey, I don't know where to turn so I'll ask here. All the boxing infoboxes now have one boxer (Curtis Bush) featured on it. For example look at Frank Klaus, the infobox code information is correct, but now it shows the info for Curtis Bush. What happened, can someone tell me how to fix this incase it happens again? Thanks. User:RiverHockey
- I see they've been corrected. How did that happen? Thanks. User:RiverHockey
- This edit to the template made the data about Curtis Bush. The next edit to the template fixed it. -- Rick Block (talk) 00:43, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vertical center alignment
Can somebody vertically align {{Philippine collegiate team}}? The logos have to be centered, they look ugly when they're aligned at the top. --Howard the Duck 09:02, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] three policy proposals for piping links in infoboxes
I've put forward three policy proposals for piping links in infoboxes on such pages as diverse as Bert Newton and Louis A. Johnson - at the piped links talk page. I'd be delighted if all editors interested in infoboxes could consider the three possibilities and perhaps say on the page which proposal they think is best. Cheers and happy editing! [edit] Accessibility issues
I've proposed a wkipedia wide project to find and eliminate instances within infobox-style templates of the anti-accessible technique of creating multiple visual rows withn a single row by embedding matching HTML breaks in two (or more) adjacent columns in a table, please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Usability#Infobox accessibility issue. This problem has been recently fixed in template:infobox country and template:infobox city. My fear is that there are hundreds of other templates with references using this formatting technique. If anyone is interested in helping with such a project please let me know (here, or at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Usability, or on my talk page, or via email). Thanks. -- Rick Block (talk) 04:27, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Infobox/table formatting question: using bullets
Hello! I'm attempting to use Infobox Ship, and I was trying to figure out a good way to use bullets in a particular box. Bullets would be helpful in rows like Armament, where a ship carried several different kinds of guns. However, when I set up a series of bullets like this:
- Ship armament=*8 × 380 mm in 2 quad turrets on the bow
- *9 × 152 mm AA in 3 triple turrets at the aft
- *24 × 100 mm AA in 12 twin turrets
- *8 × 40 mm AA
- *28 × 57 mm AA in 14 twin turrets
- *20 × 20 mm AA
I end up with a box that looks like this:
- *8 × 380 mm in 2 quad turrets on the bow
- 9 × 152 mm AA in 3 triple turrets at the aft
- 24 × 100 mm AA in 12 twin turrets
- 8 × 40 mm AA
- 28 × 57 mm AA in 14 twin turrets
- 20 × 20 mm AA
How can I get the template to recognize the bullet on the first line? The best thing I can figure out so far is to have a "filler" first line that's a line break or filler text, but that's not what I want. You could check out French battleship Jean Bart to see where I tried to do this but I used a filler line break to get it to work. TomTheHand 17:34, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Information that's only in the Infobox?
I'm looking for MoS guidance on a basic question regarding infoboxes. Is the infobox supposed to be a redundant summary of the information already present in the main article, or is it ok to have information that is only available in the infobox? The specific example that led me here is, I'm editing an airplane crash article, and wanted to remove the airplane's registration number from the intro paragraph since it is a detail that is presented more clearly in the infobox. --GregU 16:13, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Help fixing an infobox
It seems the motto parameter on the {{Infobox_School}} template is no longer working. It is still listed as an optional field, but regardless of whether somebody uses it, nothing shows up. I know this didn't use to be the case, as I've used this template many times and the motto has always worked before....If somebody who knows how to operate the syntax of these things would take a look, it would be great as I have no idea how to properly write/edit the code on these things. Thanks, AuburnPilotTalk 06:19, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- Fixed. See Albuquerque Academy for an example using it. Thanks very much for noticing. -- Rick Block (talk) 13:19, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Abortion methods infobox
I would like to create an infobox for articles in Category:Forms of abortion as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Abortion. The style and formatting of the infobox could perhaps be modelled after Template:BirthControl infobox Is there a specific procedure I must follow beforehand as there is with stub tag creation? -Severa (!!!) 10:01, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
