[edit] Issue

  • The issue is not validity but extent and dimension. The Muslim users insist that all of the several caste systems followed by south Asian Muslims were influenced by Hindus. I provide references that demonstrate a more complex dynamic, with some aspects of some caste systems adapted by Hindu converts, others influenced by the idea of nasab, others influenced by religious sanction of stratification provided by al-Barrani. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hkelkar (talkcontribs).
