- November 9: The 2006 Human Development Index (UN flag pictured) ranks India at 126th place among 177 nations, moving it a spot up from 2005.
- November 9: Ricky Ponting and Cricket Australia, apologise for their unacceptable behaviour towards BCCI chief Sharad Pawar during the presentation ceremony of the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy.
