Located on a campus of more than 5.5 acres, these schools aim at providing affordable quality education. The junior school (up through Standard II) is called Ananda. The school with classes above Standard II is called Indus World School. In the first year, the school planned to have 500 students up through Standard VI. The school plans to gradually increase admissions up through Standard XII.

[edit] School Philosophy
The Indus World School was established by IIT and IIM alumni[2] who wished to create "a place of learning with a difference".
The USP of this school, according to Satya Narayanan R, founder and chairman of Career Launcher India Limited, would be that students would not be allowed to take tuition. Ironically, the company has been riding on the wave of success of its examination coaching and e-tutorials.
Narayanan, however, argued that, "Students go for such tutorials because they do not get proper coaching at their schools/colleges. Our school will, therefore, restrict students from taking tuition and if a student underperforms or is not satisfied with the teaching procedure, the parents can question the school teachers themselves."
[edit] Curriculum
The curriculum at Indus World Schools has been designed for keeping the child as the center of all academic and co-curricular activities. The school promotes learning through the spirit of inquiry, allowing students to learn by doing and on their own terms. The school believes that no two children learn the same way and encourages the growth of multiple intelligence. At IWS, play is taken as seriously as study and education is never restricted to the classroom. IWS also encourages students to understand the world around them by reaching out to the community.
[edit] Subjects
Students at IWS are taught all the key subjects prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). At IWS the key to education is relating these subjects to the student’s real life and experiences.
[edit] Sports
Sports are an integral part of the school curriculum. Students are introduced to various sports and encouraged to make sports a part of their daily routine, thus promoting good health among the students. Till class VI, all students are expected to play at least three sports. After class VI, students pick up the sport they enjoy the most and work at attaining a level of expertise in that sport.
Some of the sports that students at IWS have the option of taking up are: Cricket, Tennis, Basketball, Swimming, Football, Athletics, Hockey, and Badminton.
In class IX, students who show promise in a particular sport graduate to super-specialty sports academies. These are residential academies where the students can hone their skills under the guidance of experienced coaches. These students will be trained to become professionals and make a career out of their favorite sport.
[edit] Other Activities
Besides academics and sports, the IWS curriculum also includes activities such as music, art, craft and drama (MACD). These are not just extra-curricular activities, but disciplines which the students can take up as future careers.
[edit] Technology
Taking technology into the classrooms, all IWS buildings are Wi-Fi enabled and VoIP will be used for teacher training.
