This amphibious unit was organized around 2nd Imperial Guards Infantry Regiment, 14th Tank Regiment with some supporting anti-aircraft gun, signal and other units, lead by Major Gen. Takuma Nishimura. It was supported by a flotilla of ships and naval aircraft from carriers and air bases on Hainan Island.
