Indiana State Road 51

State Road 51in the U.S. State of Indiana is a north-south route on the state highway system in northwest Indiana. It consists of a route about 6 miles (10 km) long from a point on U.S. Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) 2 miles (4 km) east of Merrillville and 8 miles (13 km) west of Valparaiso, north to U.S. Route 20 in Lake Station. Immediately north of U.S. 30, the highway is signed as the Adam Benjamin Highway.
This highway is the main north-south highway through Hobart. Just east of Hobart, Indiana 51 intersects with the northern terminus of State Road 130. Indiana 51 turns north to join U.S. Route 6 (Ridge Road), where the eastern terminus of Business U.S. 6 is. U.S. 6 westbound joins Indiana 51 northbound to meet the Borman Expressway (Interstates 80/94), where U.S. 6 leaves Indiana 51. About a mile (2 km) north of this point, Indiana 51 terminates at U.S. 20.
