Indiana Evans (born July 27, 1990) is an Australian actress, who plays 16-year-old Matilda Hunter on the popular Australian soap opera Home and Away. She plays the daughter of Beth Hunter (Clarissa House), twin sister of Henry Hunter (Tobi Atkins) and her other siblings are Scott (Kip Gamblin), Kit (Amy Mizzi) and Robbie (Jason Smith).

Indiana Evans was born in Sydney on July 27, 1990, under the Zodiac sign of Leo, the Lion. She had always showed a keen interest in acting and started acting before friends and family when she was just five years old. When Indiana Evans was seven years old, her parents enrolled her for dance lessons. She started with dance lessons for Ballet. She later evolved to Jazz and Tap dance styles and started performing before much larger groups. In 2000, when Indiana Evans was ten years old, she started taking music lessons for learning percussion. She also joined an agency, Kermond Management, the same year and started modeling. At the age of 11 years in 2001, her music lessons paid off and she got her first break in an Asguard commercial. With her first pay check from the commercial, she bought her own drum kit.

In 2003, when Indiana Evans was just 13 years old, she got a guest role as Milly Roberts in an episode of All Saints. She then landed the principal role in an American Campaign for 'Kool Aid'. Indiana also appeared in Comedy Inc. The same year, she also got the role of Abbie Oakly on the television series, Snobs. Apparently, she learned horse riding and surfing for this role.

In 2004, when her part in Snobbs was coming to an end, Indiana Evans was asked to audition for the role of Matilda Hunter in the popular series Home and Away. This was the big break in her career and on hearing from her agent that she got the role, she was in a state of shock. She didn't say a word for some time and then she started running around her house screaming. She then had to call back her agent.

In 2004, Indiana Evans also appeared on Girl TV, a daily TV magazine show.

Her character battles eating disorder in the series Home and Away. Indiana Evans was nominated for the 2005 Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent – Female for playing the role of Matilda Hunter in Home and Away.

Before working on Home and Away, Indiana Evans had started high school at Newtown School for Performing Arts, but had to discontinue it after only two weeks to focus on her acting career. She then took up correspondence course to finish her school.

Indiana Evans has dated her co-star, Rhys Wakefield (who plays the role of Lucas Holden) in real and reel life. They were both seen as a couple in the MTV Music Video Awards show in 2006.

Indiana's favourite colour is green. She loves fruit (her favourite being cherries) and her favourite ice-cream is lemon gelato. Indiana's hobbies & interests include singing, drawing, hanging with friends, shopping and playing with her cat Meemo.

Indiana's character Matilda Hunter is very self-loathing as currently on the show she battles an eating disorder and she eventually admits to Cassie she has a problem, so she goes to rehab. She meets Dean and Vanessa and quickly bonds with Dean and Lucas' jealousy intensifies. Vanessa has a serious violent problem and Matilda and Dean are horrified.
