The Second Congressional District of Indiana is centered on South Bend, Indiana and the Indiana portion of the Michiana region. Its current representative is Chris Chocola, who will be replaced by challenger Joe Donnelly at the beginning of the 110th United States Congress in January, 2007.
[edit] History
Prior to 2002, District 2 covered east central Indiana. However, following the Census 2000 redistricting, the second district was moved to replace most of what had been the Indiana's 3rd congressional district as well as much of Indiana's 5th congressional district. Chris Chocola served as the district's representative from 2003-2007, at which point he was unseated by repeat challenger Joe Donnelly.
