The Index to Marine & Lacustrine Geological Samples is a central catalog of core samples located in the repositories of member organizations. About twenty research facilities and institutions currently belong.
The index is located on a server at the World Data Center for Marine Geology & Geophysics, Boulder, Colorado, which is maintained by the National Geophysical Data Center under the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, U. S. Department of Commerce.
