Independent Citizen's Party
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Independent Citizen's Party was a short-lived political organization in Manitoba, Canada. It held at least one public meeting before the provincial election of 1920, but does not appear to have sponsored any candidates in the election which followed.
The ICP was founded to express displeasure with Manitoba's political system, although it did not specifically criticize the government of Tobias C. Norris. The organization probably represents an instance of "middle-class discontent" surfacing as populist politics, albeit only for a very brief period of time.
The ICP's leader was one Mr. Duncanson, who did not run in the 1920 provincial election.
