Independencia (Spanish "independence") is a municipality ("comuna") of Chile located on the province of Santiago in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. It has an area of 7.4 km², a population of 65,479 (2002 census) and an average household income of $23,811 in PPP US dollars (2000).
