In the Court of the Crimson King is the title of the 1969 debut album by the British progressive rock group King Crimson.
The album was remastered and re-released in the late 1990s. It was given a subsequent remastering after the original masters were found in the Virgin vaults. This remaster was released in 2004.
Along with songs by Yes, the King Crimson song "Moonchild" was used in the 1998 movie Buffalo 66.
British rock band Doves used the melody line from "Moonchild" for their track "M62 Song".
The song "The Court of the Crimson King" was used in the 2006 British film Children of Men.
Barry Godber painted the haunting album cover. He died shortly after the album's release.
