[edit] Review

In a Different Light is simply wonderful. Avalon manages to be sincere without being saccharine; honest without being unfeeling. The four-part harmonies give this album a gospel feel, but the overall sound is unapologetic pop. Brown Bannister does an amazing job producing this album, giving a layered richness to their sound without drowning out the voices or the message. Their sound is infectious and moving, especially in danceable numbers like the title track, "In a Different Light," and torchy numbers like "Can't Live Without You."

[edit] Miscellanea

    • Second Avalon album to become R.I.A.A certified Gold
    • After Nikki Hassman left, Cherie Adams (then Paliotta) was signed to become the new soprano for the group
    • A shorter version of "Hide My Soul" can be found on the Left Behind soundtrack
    • So far, "In Not Of" is the only song done by the group to have a music video
