In Your Direction is a song by glam metal band Ratt. It was released in 1984 as the fourth track from Ratt's major label debut Out of the Cellar. It was written by Ratt lead singer Stephen Pearcy. It is 3:30 long. The song is known by many Ratt fans for sporting a nifty riff in the first 8 seconds of the song before the drums kick in. Mickey Ratt, the band that would eventually become Ratt, originally recorded "In Your Direction" as a single, Ratt then re-recorded the song for "Out of the Cellar".
[edit] Theme
The lyrics focus is about breaking up with a girlfriend or wife mainly because of the lines:
- Well, I saw the time closin' in, you said you're leavin' me
- I'm cursed with your heart's perfection
The song is also about trying to win back the girlfriend back due to the lines:
- I'm not waitin' for you
- You turned me 'round in your direction
- I'm lookin' for you, yeah
