[edit] Early History
In 1992 the original line up for Immature was formed. Original members were Marques "Batman" Houston, Jerome "Young Rome" Jones, and Don "Half Pint" Santos. The members attended the same school, and decided to enter a talent show together. There they were discovered and signed on to Hook Management. Their parents were not sure this was the right option for them because of their age. At this time they were only 8 or 9 years old. In the end, they decided to go for it. Houston was featured on movie entitled Bebe's Kids with the voice actor name Kahill.
It was during this time that they appeared in the movie House Party 3 as Kid's younger cousins. They also appeared on a two part episode of A Different World. They portrayed students who gave the character Whitley as hard time on her first day as a teacher. This led Houston to the contract role of Roger Evans on Sister, Sister.
This caused a problem for Santos' parents. The group was constantly on the road, and he missed a great deal of school. To fix the problem they hired tutors to travel with them, but it did not work out. His parents decided to take him out of the group, and he was replaced by Kelton "LDB" Kessee. Kessee at the time was the drummer for the group, and he was the same age as Houston and Jones. He still remained their drummer, but he became a member of the group.
[edit] Music as Immature
The group released four albums under the name Immature. In 1992, they release their debut ablum entitled On Our Worst Behavior. The singles are "Da Munchies" and "Tear It Up (On Our Worst Behavior)". In 1994, they released their second album entitled Playtime Is Over. The main singles from this album were "Never Lie", "Constantly," and "I Don't Mind." In 1995, they released their third album entitled We Got It. The singles from this album were "Feel The Funk", "We Got It", "Please Don't Go", "Crazy" and "Lover's Groove". In 1997, they released their fourth and last album as Immature entitled The Journey. This album featured "Give Up The Ghost", "Extra, Extra" written by Keith Sweat, and "I'm Not A Fool". Also, they released the song "Watch Me Do My Thing" which had appeared in the movie Good Burger the previous year.
[edit] Transition to IMx
In 1998 the group changed their name to IMx. This name conveyed a more grown up feel than "Immature." As IMx, they released two albums. In 1999, they released "Introducing IMx." Notable singles from this album are "Stay The Night", "In And Out Of Love", and "Keep It On The Low". In 2001, they released the self-titled "IMx." Notable songs from this album were "First Time", "Beautiful You Are", "Clap Your Hands", and "Ain't No Need". They also appeared in the movie House Party 4: Down to the Last Minute, a direct-to-video sequel to the House Party series.
[edit] After IMx
In 2002 the group disbanded in order to pursue solo projects. In 2003, Houston became the first member to release a solo album with "MH". The singles were "That Girl" and "Clubbin (Ft. Joe Budden)". In 2004, Jones released his solo album entitled Food For Thought under the name Young Rome. A year later, in 2005, Houston released his second album Naked. The first single from this album was "All Because of You." The song feature Jones, and Kessee also appeared in the video. The marked a reunion of sorts for IMx. Houston's third album Veteran is due to be released on March 20, 2007. Jones is currently working on his second album. The titled has not yet be determined, but it will be released under is name, Jerome Jones. It will feature the song "For Your Love" which also features Houston.
