Improbable Cause is the twentieth episode of the third season of the television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The story concludes in the following episode, The Die is Cast. Directed by Avery Brooks, the teleplay is credited to René Echevarria, with story credit shared by Robert Lederman and David R. Long.
