[edit] Guilds
There are many Guilds that one can gain entrance to, each catering to different ideals. The currently running Guilds of Imperian are as follows: Arboreals, Bards, Clerics, Diavlous, Hunters, Idras, Justicars, Lorekeepers, Mages, Malignists, Noctusari, Saboteurs, Taekyon, Wardancers, Wardens, and Wytchen. Each Guild is accorded its own special skills, ranging from Tarot to Bonding. The Guilds are also player run, each having its own hierarchy, as well as a way to communicate with other guildmates through "telepathic " guild chat.
[edit] City States
Imperian is further divided into nations, each having a customizable government structure, one capitol city and 5 townes. The current nations are as follows: Antioch, Celidon, Ithaqua, Khandava, Kinsarmar, and Stavenn. Each nation state has loyal guilds as well as its own stance concerning Imperian's core concepts: Magick and Civilization.
[edit] Clans and Orders
Beyond guilds and nation states, the game is further divided into clans, player-created organizations that may serve any purpose, and orders, organized religious organizations.
[edit] Battle System
Imperian's battle system differs from the norm of MUDS, making the player take active participation in the combat by requiring continual input rather than running through a recursive fight loop. This input must also be chosen from a wide range of commands available to the player based on the skills the character has acquired. This distinguishes combat from most other MUDs where you enter a single command universal to all players to initiate a recursive fight loop.
[edit] Player Skills
The skills of Imperian are divided into skill sets, which may then be developed by the player independently. There are skill sets universal to all characters as well as skill sets available to specific guilds. Each guild is allotted three skill sets, however a character is initially given the ability to develop two of these skill sets. The third skillset becomes available for development upon character advancement within the guild.
