[edit] Walt Disney Classics release dates
I know User Canadiana knows a whole bunch about the line of Disney videos and I really need to find out the release date of the Dumbo classics edition sometime so I can put it on my big page dedicated to the Disney home video division. I also need the 1991 re-release of Dumbo's release date as well. And I also need the 1991 re-release dates of Alice in Wonderland and The Sword in the Stone, the exact release dates of their titles back in 1978-1984.
Oh, I also have to ask Canadiana this: Do you remember any television ads for the Disney videos in the 1980s?
Thanks, Imax80 21:10, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- No, I don't remember any television ads in the 1980s. If I find any in my stuff, I'll let you know. I will be writing a bit that I do know about 1980s promotional efforts shortly. Canadiana 05:22, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- I will get back to you with what details I know on Alice in Wonderland, but it won't be until at least late tonight, because I'm not at home now. I do have pictures of the videos released with Bambi. Canadiana 21:11, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Awesome, is there a way to show them to me? Imax80 23:10, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Give me a couple of days and I'll find a way to do it. Canadiana 06:09, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, the picture is up now at http://disvids.blogspot.com/2006/09/disney-classics-released-with-bambi.html. Click the thumbnail to see it a bit bigger. Canadiana 18:21, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hey Canadiana, guess what I saw? A Christmas 1985 WDHV ad, even copyrighted 1985, and it has Dumbo and Pinocchio! It was pretty awesome! Imax80 22:22, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Where did you see it? Canadiana 23:23, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- eBay. Just search under "walt disney home video" and you'll shall find it. It's B&W, and also, the prices of the videos are $29.95. Imax80 23:32, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Walt Disney Classics logos
But where does the description "prototype version" come from? Did Disney call it that, or just what someone calls it because it was the first one? —tregoweth (talk) 02:41, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- Prototype is usually the nickname for a version they tried to use. Imax80 03:32, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- Like Tregoweth, I don't understand what you mean by "prototype". What do you mean by "a version they tried to use"? Do you mean that they tried to use it but they never actually succeeded in using it? Why were they not successful? Where can we find this logo?
- Also, why is it important? Why should anybody care about it? How is this information useful to us? Jimmy Wales, who is the person who started Wikipedia, said "I'm doing this for the child in Africa." How will the pictures of the two different shades of blue in the logo help "the child in Africa" to understand the world and how it works? Why should the child in Africa care? Canadiana 05:31, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- I changed the logo to "original version" because it is. Ever since the logo's first appearance on the 1988 print of Cinderella, and I can tell you that the prototype version is on there because I have it and it's on all the prints. The 1989 release of Bambi uses the "regular version." And besides, there is a difference between the two logos.
The original version is in Film-O-Vision (according to wile e2005), and when the background changes color, instead of all blue, it's black/navy and blue. On the version seen on Bambi and all tapes up (except some copies of Robin Hood), the background turns bright blue completely and yet the letters are lighter when shined. And as a logo fan, I can tell the difference between the two. And the diamond in the original version is more metallic and the other one is all black on the inside.
Yes, I know logos aren't important to you guys, but to us logo fanatics, they are. Logos will tend to come in many variants, like the 1988 Walt Disney Classics logo. That black/blue version is definately the original because all videotapes before Cinderella use the 1984 classics logo. The usage of it on the 1991 Robin Hood cassette is possibly just a horrid video editing error like most videos of the 1980s and early 1990s had, or maybe it was a random thing.
What I said earlier about logo fanatics, the reason we nicknamed the two logos is because if somebody comes to the article and notices the two logos, we put those captions there so they won't be confused of why there are two logos. I am not an amdinistrator, so Tregoweth has the rights to remove one or the other, or maybe both.
But to settle all of this questioning about the two variants, one is basically a different color. --Imax80 19:47, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, if you're ever in the UK, don't buy the tapes that have inserts reading "Back by popular demand!" because you won't get the Classics logo. --The Track Master 15:19, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Don't worry; given Skymac207's behavior, his edits don't seem particularly trustworthy. I've been reverting pretty much any edits of his made without explanation.

Thanks. Imax80 00:45, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- Also see Wikipedia:Citation_templates. I have that bookmarked and go to it fairly often. You might want to put a link like that on your user page where you can find it easily. Canadiana 04:49, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Adding a "blocked" notice to a user page does not actually block them; it's put on talk pages by the administrator (like me :) )who blocks the user. —tregoweth (talk) 21:26, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About the "Sleeping Beauty" cassette...
I wonder if you could post pictures of the dark red FBI warnings and the video dealer announcement when you get the camera for your birthday? And do you know what they look like again? Gabrielkat 02:10, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe, I am using the camera for making my film, but I might get banned from youtube without the copyrights, but they look like this.
The first one has the FBI logo boxed in a white box with the warnings inside it.
The next screen shows the dark red screen with some stylish font saying the warning. The video dealer announcement has the words in bold Times font-
"If you would like to own a videocassette of this program for your home library, ask your home video dealer about purchasing new or previously viewed tapes." On a aqua/black background. Imax80 02:21, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry I posted it wrong, my VHS player broke in like May 2006. Imax80 01:38, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] To all Walt Disney Home Video fans that use Wikipedia
Do any of you want me to take a picture of my 1981-1994 collection videos and scan it and post it here so you can look at all the titles I own? If so, I'll try to do it. Sign here if you want to see it. I think at least one signature will convince me to post it. --Imax80 01:11, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, Wikipedia will not allow you to post a picture of copyrighted content on your user page or on any talk page. See Wikipedia:Fair use, especially the policy section. There may be another place where you can post it, but not on Wikipedia, unless it meets all the criteria in that policy. Canadiana 03:31, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'll try another site, but do you guys want to see the collection? Imax80 19:09, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, you can not only put in on that site, but you can also take individual pictures of your collection and place them on their respective pages for us to see. --Ryanasaurus0077 19:10, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- May do that. Imax80 19:11, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, no can do, I dont wan't to risk them because they are worth a lot to me. I took a picture of them on my digital camera and I will develop it instantly, I have one of those printer things. Then I will figure out how to work the scanner and post it on a website like Geocities or something, now that I have high speed internet. Imax80 01:38, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
Imax80, when is your birthday?
- October 20. Imax80 19:26, 28 September 2006 (UTC)\
Okay Imax80, when you get your camara for birthday. Here are some logos in need you to upload.
-1988 proto-type classics logo -1989 regular classics logo -1988 classics logo 1992 version clean music -1988 classics logo 1992 version distorted music -1984 classics logo -1994 masterpiece collection logo -1991 FP Screen -1992 FP Screen -1997 FP Screen
And that's it! You know why not 1986 WDHV logo and 1993 WDHV logo. Because you scared of those two logos.
Uh, I used to be scared of them when I was like a little kid. And besides, I won't upload them because Wile e2005 got banned for uploading the logos. I wish I could upload them. Imax80 22:02, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
Well Why don't you copyright them? And what does copyright mean?
- Copyright means to verify that you have the rights to what you have created. And I don't want to take the risk of uploading them because I want to post storyboards of my movie on the website. Imax80 22:30, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
You have to upload those logos because I need to put them on my movie, and then I can make copies.
-
- Sorry, I'll get banned if I do. --Imax80 23:57, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
How do I put these logos on my movie? how!
-
-
- Get an old Disney video containing the logo (you said you got rid of all of yours), you can find on eBay or rental stores that are closing. --Imax80 18:48, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
-
Actually, I didn't get rid of my videos. I still have them here, but there in a box somewhere and I can't find my videos.

I'll be back... --The Track Master 21:11, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

I got myself the 1985 video release of Pinocchio in the white clamshell! Imax80 00:11, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Cool! Wile e2005 once rented that video, with the dark red FBI warnings and the video dealer announcement... I wonder if your copy has those FBI warnings and the video dealer announcement that I mentioned above? Gabrielkat 12:59, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

- The copy will arrive at my house soon, and then I'll tell you if the tape has them.Imax80 19:26, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yay! How many videos do you think you can bag within the next year? Which reminds me, I saw a Thorn-EMI video in my local shop. Gonna buy it when it comes in again. --The Track Master 16:02, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Quite a good bunch, I am getting money for my birthday and I am going to spend it on old Disney videos, Beta and VHS.
Okay, my video wish list.
- 1985 Dumbo black clamshell
- 1984 Robin Hood black clamshell
- 1986 Sword black clamshell
- 1980 Pete's Dragon, Black Hole, and The Love Bug
- 1989 videotape for Bambi (I only have the clamshell)
- 1991 Robin Hood with green FBI screens and original classics logo
- 1991 re-releases of Alice, and Sword
So far. Imax80 19:57, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Since you're one of the only people to know a lot about WDHV, how many videos were released through it? --The Track Master 12:28, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Oh god, tons of them. Imax80 18:29, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
- The last time I tried to make a complete list was in August 1994. At that time, there were about 670 Disney titles on videocassette. Of those about 125 were Touchstone or Hollywood, maybe 10 or 20 Buena Vista, and I guess about a dozen Muppet Home Video and a few D.I.C. Of course there have been tons more WDHV cassettes since 1994. Track Master, how many did you think there were? Canadiana 19:27, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Thousands since right now. --The Track Master 19:42, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

I tried to fix up Walt Disney Classics but it's become very confusing to to differentiate verified information from random mess-ups. Please read this (particularly the part before "contents") to learn how to change to a known good version. Canadiana 03:45, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry about the Japanese release date. I had put in back after the reversion, but I accidentally put it in the wrong section. That's fixed now. Canadiana 21:38, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] My New Mini-Movie Screenplay
Hi! I like Imax80's scripts, they're actually well written; he is certainly, extremely wellread.
Anyway, here is my fourth fully written screenplay.
"Gene and Bob" in... Gene and Clueless Bob Strike Back
Gene is utterly gutted when he is “de-ranked” and insulted by his Boss. To get revenge, his clueless roommate Bob is told to do the most unusual thing…
- Screenplay
- OPENING
- (Gene drives to the Police Building)
- (He stops and gets out; runs towards doors)
- (Cut to Interior)
- (He runs inside, looks around, points at blown light bulb; walks more)
- (A door opens for him)
- (Another door opens for him)
- (Yet another door opens, but closes on his foot)
- (He mutters; walks on)
- (Walks into Police Box)

- (He shakes the phone, muttering)
- SCREENPLAY
- (Cut to Chief Troy’s office)
- (Gene walks in)
- Gene: Reporting, Chief.
- Chief: Mister Gene…I’ve got no choice but to fire you. You destroyed an old lady’s handbag, rolled *R’s car on its roof eighty-nine times, and even kicked our huge, precious computers to pieces. *Those cost an awful-
- Gene: It was an accident…
- (Troy stands up)
- Chief: Accident?! You hit-and-ran Tiger Woods’ golfing shoes! I’m sorry Gene, but you…are out! For *good!
- (Troy walks out and slams the door shut)
- (Gene walks around in disbelief)
- (Cut to inside Gene and Bob’s house)
- (Gene enters TV room)
- Gene <annoyed>: Bob, Landlady, guess what happened?
- Bob: What happened then, Gene?
- Gene: Chief DE-RANKED me!!
- (Landlady chokes on her burger)
- Bob: What?!
- Landlady: Uhh…de-ranked?
- Gene: Err, okay…fired me.
- (Bob and Landlady sit there)
- Landlady: …and?
- Gene: I think you will find that this is one of the most depressing things in my whole life.
- Bob: Whatever.
- (Bob and Landlady continue to eat)
- (Cut to Bob’s bedroom)
- Gene: Imagine \\your// police career going like that.
- Bob: Oh-hhh no-ooo!
- Gene: Yes, and as a friend of mine, would you care to insult Troy back?
- Bob/Gene <slyly>: Hmm…
- Bob: Yep.
- Gene: Yeah?
- Bob: Yes, I’ll do it.
- Gene: Whoo-hoo!
- (Cut to Police Station at night)
- (Espionage music)
- (Bob is in ninja outfit)
- Bob: Hehe!

- Bob <embarrassed>: Hello?
- (Cut to TV Room, Gene and Bob’s house)
- Gene: Hmm…where is he?
- Landlady: What are you talkin’ about?
- Gene: Nothing!
- (Text: A few minutes later)
- (Gene has coked up Landlady)
- Gene: There!
- (Gene gets up)
- (Gene runs to the car)
- (Car starts; he drives away)
- (Cut to Police Station)
- (Gene’s car stops; he gets out and runs…into the door)
- Gene: Ugh.
- (Gene takes out crowbar)
- Gene: Aha!
- (Cut to Office)
- (Bob and Troy are still standing; the cigar has dropped from Troy’s mouth)
- (Gene walks in)
- Chief: You…
- (Gene accidentally hits Troy up the chin with the crowbar)
- Chief: Oh!
- (Troy falls over)
- Gene: Now let’s hurry!
- (They run)
- (Cut to Outside)
- (Gene and Bob get in the car and they drive off)
- (Cut to Interior of Car)
- Bob: Wow! That was close!
- Gene: I know!
- (Cut to House TV Room)
- (Gene and Bob enter)
- Bob: What happened to Daphne?
- Gene: Err…
- (Landlady wakes up)
- Landlady: Don’t tell me a bit of what you’ve done now!
- (Landlady sighs)
- Landlady: I’ll clean up.
- Bob <quietly, laughing>: She…she always…she always thinks we break things!
- Gene: We do!
- Landlady <to Bob>: And who are you? The Silver Surfer?
- (Cut to Beach)
- (Gene, Bob and Landlady are having a picnic; Landlady is on her own)
- Gene: Hey, Daphne, wanna join me?
- Landlady: Why would I? All you’ll do is mess my burritos!
- Gene: I think I’ll go for a dive…
- (Gene dives a high distance)
- Bob: Err…you don’t have your swimming trunks with you.
- (A huge shark comes out of the water; everyone except Bob runs)
- Gene: What the?
- (Gene is sent flying into the sand)
- (He rolls and counters with a blast from his tranquilliser)
- (The bullet hits the shark in the mouth; it falls over, causing a tidal wave)
- Gene: Wow!
- (Gene is flat-out on the sand)
- (Troy, Bob and Landlady walk towards Gene)
- Chief: Did you…?
- (Gene gets up)
- Gene: Preston Gene reporting, Chief.
- Chief: Welcome back, Inspector.
- Gene: Gee, thanks!
- Bob: Daphne, he's back to his old job again!
- Landlady: Ugh…more like his old tricks.
- (Cut to TV Room, Gene and Bob’s House)
- Gene: Ah…back again. It feels great – now I’ll be twice the Inspector I was.
- Bob: And me?
- Gene: Oh, you? Nah, I’ll just have you as assistant.

[edit] My Project (reply to Track Master)
Good job, Track Master. It was funny and unique. Oh, and um, where did you find my scripts? IMDb?
Okay, here's a scene from my script. It's from my title Safari, it's about animals that try to survive when a demon corrupts their home. The main character Leo has a pastlife, and he needs to remember it. Hope you enjoy. Setting is autumn 1970.
This scene is where they are in an urban area and must learn to survive in it, it will be expanded. If you need details on the characters, ask me.
- Leo: Well, this is odd.
- Neckstor: Yeah, and what are these?
- Leo: Train tracks.
- Speedy: Train tracks?
- Greg: Yeah, and what's a train?
- Leo: This is a human city guys.
- Speedy: Yeah? And.
- Leo: We can't let the humans see us since we are wild animals. We must find an easier way to escape this city.
- Greg: But what is a train?
- Leo: That's our solution to this.
- Neckstor: That's a train right there? That's a human driving it!
- Leo: Don't you worry about a thing, leave it to me.
- Gabe: Hope it doesn't take too long.
(after a while of finding a suitable locomotive)
- Leo: Look at the size of the locomotive, maybe it could pull all of the recruits.
- Crane Operator: Time to put this huge waste of tracks to scrap.
- Leo: Nooo! (jumps onto the crane)
- Crane Operator: Get off you mangy animal! (shakes Leo)
- Leo: Oh no, it's dropping from the crane! (train falls and Leo holds it over a huge pool of hot liquid)
- Leo: Oh cr*p, nooooooooooooooooooo. Oh wait, I have strength, Hiya! (throws train onto the tracks and drives away)
- Crane Operator: Get back here you dumb animal!
- Neckstor: Here he comes.
- Leo: Success, I got us a train, now hook that set of passenger cars to it and we can be on our marry way.
- Speedy: Good choice Leo!
(Leo goes into dream about food since a major starvation is occuring to all the animals, he hits a sign and wake up)
- Speedy: Leo!
- Greg: Yeah, all that starvation has gone to his head.
- Leo: Okay, we need to get drastic here, we must get some of the human's food supplies without any trouble. I am recruiting Speedy, Neckstor, Greg, and Conrad to come with me. Animals, stand by and lock up the train. Back it up into that shed right there. We'll get the goods.
- Gabe: Hope it all goes well, then I'll have to be the sacrificial gazelle.
- Leo: Let's see.
- Neckstor: What about that place?
- Leo: Kentucky Fried Chicken? Forget it, too greasy.
- Speedy: That big M over there looks tempting.
- Leo: McDonald's Hamburgers, uh no.
- Greg: That place?
- Leo: Burger King.
- Greg: Oooh, ohhh, ohh! Over there.
- Leo: A supermarket! Wait here you guys. I have to slowly sneak in. Why don't you guard that helpful truck/van thingy while I find a safe way to shop.
- Conrad: Okay.
- Leo: (walking in) Hmmm, now this must be (automatic door closes on his tail) OUCCHHHH!!!!
- Person #1: Ah! A lion! Run!!!
- Person #2: He's gonna eat, get the police!! AHH!!
- Leo: That's kinda taken care of. (everyone runs out)
- Policeman: Looks like we have an animal problem at the local Am-Co down here. We'll have to stop them. Let's go men!
- Leo: It's safe everyone.
- Greg: Wow, this is an emporium of food!
- Leo: Yes I know it looks nice but we have to get the shopping done before anything else happens, split up. I'll go solo, Greg will go with Conrad, and Speedy will go with Neckstor. Everyone get a cart and get all the good food that will be essential.
- Neckstor: Why is that food behind a thing?
- Speedy: Vending machine.
- Neckstor: Hey! How do you know that?!
- Speedy: Leo told me.
- Neckstor: Leo knows everything about humans.
- Speedy: Perhaps you can stick your really long neck and head up that thing and get the food inside.
- Neckstor: Already done.
- Leo: Now let's see, chicken and turkey will do, and some steak.
- Greg: May I ask who Heinz is?
- Conrad: The makers of that red stuff.
- Greg: Yeah, I'll take it.
- Neckstor: Look at this, a place where you can sit and eat food!
- Speedy: Food court.
- Neckstor: Lemme guess, Leo told you that?
- Speedy: Yes.
- Neckstor: Hey! Look at this. Popcorn! What is popcorn?
- Speedy: Some weird snack, put your head in there, since you are a giraffe, and taste it.
- Neckstor: Ummm...ooch....ouch....hot!
- Speedy: I get you out.
- Neckstor: Thank you. Oh look at that thing!
- Speedy: Drinks for free.
- Neckstor: (pushes button to drink machine) Fizzy, tarty!! Gulp. Gulp. Gulp.
- Leo: Now let's see, chicken is.. (a chicken clucks loudly) What was that?!
- Clucker: Bagawk! Help me. A mad man is gonna chop me up.
- Leo: Wait a minute.
- Butcher: Now for your death ya chicken!
- Clucker: (clucks loudly) I gotta get out of here. (sees his father in a rotisserie)
- Leo: Okay, I am in.
- Butcher: Why you little, I willa chopa ya head off!
- Clucker: Noooooooooooooooo. (in slow motion) Huh? (cleaver is on the board right next to him)
- Butcher: Ahh!!! Lion!!! Don't eat me!!!!!!
- Neckstor: Okay, I am done, lemme haul this thing to the vehicle and then..(sensors go off) What did I do?! I have the right to remain silent? Right?!!
- Speedy: You idiot! Now the police will find us all.
- Leo: (gasps) Get ready guys, we are gonna have company.
(police are about to rush in)

- That Heinz line cracked me up big time. Great work! Also loved the "Big M". Miramax Films! :) I've got a Screenplay section in my talk page, so if you want to see new projects, or post yours, you can go there. Yep, I read at IMDb. --The Track Master 14:54, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Guess what WDHV fans....
I just got two 1980s videos from a rental store that was closing.
Here they are-
Tex, the original 1983 video release
Return from Witch Mountain, the 1986 tape re-release, printed April 17, 1986.
--Imax80 21:21, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
How many videos do you have? :S - I have over five-hundred, I think, but that's a rough estimate. --The Track Master 16:27, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry it took me a while to reply to this one, but, do you mean Disney videos, or all my videos and DVDs?
It's okay. Videos. --The Track Master 19:23, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] About The Great Mouse Detective...
Does it have the "Coming Only to Theatres this 1992 Holiday Season" and "Special Previews" bumpers? Gabrielkat 01:20, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
GMD uses a different "Coming only to Theatres" bumper rather than Lilac Blue one. It is white writing on a black background. Imax80 18:28, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
It dosen't have a "Coming Only to Theaters" bumper at all! I've seen every copy of "The Great Mouse Detective" & it's not there. Have you all suffered recent brain injuries lately? Mr.Wheeler 17:44, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
- No, we haven't, Mr. Wheeler. Get real, and get the crap civilized! --Ryanasaurus0077 14:59, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- He's gotta a lot to learn. He couldn;t see "every" copy ever made. He never saw my copy. --Imax80 21:03, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- Leave me alone Mr. Wheeler, my copy has a bumper. --Imax80 23:49, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- What does the bumper look like? Gabrielkat 15:23, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Skymac, again
Spotted and blocked for a week. —tregoweth (talk) 00:33, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 1984 Classics logo
On my 1986 tape re-master of Pinocchio, when the 1984 classics logo finishes, it stays there silent for 10 seconds (wow!) and then fades away. --Imax80 18:57, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- That is amazing. --The Track Master 19:09, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Wow that's kinda scary to me! The logo is not scary but when it stays still for 10 seconds it's really scary!
- Yeah, when I first saw it, I thought there was a tape glitch. --Imax80 01:03, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- It's also on my 1986 Alice print. --Ryanasaurus007 01:29, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 1988 Classics logo is on Marco's Big Move tape
On the Marco's Big Move tape, after the Feature Presentation Handwritting bumper. It shows the 1988 classics logo with bluish backround and clear music. Before the texts turn gold, Super Mario flies through the screen. Cool isn't it. This logo was taken from my 1992 print of 101 Dalmtions.
- You found your 101 Dalmatians print? Cool. Oh, and check the side of Robin Hood tape if you find it and tell me the print date. Then we'll see when those green FBI screens came out. --Imax80 20:45, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
I checked on the side of my Robin Hood print and it said Sept.17,1991.
- Case closed, green FBI screens were 1991. --Imax80 20:59, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
What did you think about the part about Super Mario flying through the screen? And what does case closed mean?
-
- I like the Mario series, pretty good idea although Mario is Nintendo and not Disney. Case closed means that the question has been answered, the arugement has ended. The Green FBI screens may have been "created" in 1991, then shown in 1992 because the videos are released in a matter of months or days after they are printed. And please sign your posts by typing this, four tildes, --Imax80 01:02, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes that's correct! The green FBI screens were introduced in 1991! At the beginning of Marco's Big Move it shows an episode of Phil of the Future for 2-5 seconds then it goes away. then it has green "Licensed for private home" screen and "Dupliaction" screen. Then it shows 1 trailer for Aladdin, After that it shows the special preview bumper, Then the Feature Presentation bumper, And then the 1992 classics logo with Super Mario instead of Mickey, Then the movie starts. After the movie you see the swiss chalet logo and then it fades and then it shows the red walt disney logo and at the bottom it says "Coming this spring to home video" in cursive writting, and then it shows the 101 Dalmations trailer, after the trailer you see the same thing before the trailer but instead it shows "Coming this Fall to Home Video" in same cursive writting, then the Beauty and the Beast trailer. And That's it. That was cool isn't it? This were I got these logo off on.
Green FBI screens- Robin Hood
Aladdin Trailer- Beauty and the Beast
Special Preview bumper- Beauty and the Beast
Feature Presentaion bumper- Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh
1988 classics logo blue backround- 101 Dalmatians
Walt Disney Pictures- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Super Mario in coin- Super Mario All-Stars game
101 Dalmatians trailer- Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the Beast trailer- The Rescuers
- That is cool, but those previews are dated, but its your movie, you can do what you want, you are the director. --Imax80 21:36, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Skymac/Walt Disney Classics
I've reverted it to the last version before Skymac's anon edits, and blocked that anon address for a week. —tregoweth (talk) 21:51, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you Tregoweth, it looked horrible when he edited it. Did you look at it before I tried to fix it? --Imax80 22:04, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- Read the section before the contents block on the reverting page and memorize how it works. This is what the anonymous user on Armstrong Cable in Butler, Pennsylvania is doing and it's the only practical way to battle it.
-
- I have also left two sets of replies for you on my user page. Be sure to read them both. Canadiana 00:56, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- I replied to them. --Imax80 01:20, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Holiday Promo
What video is the holiday promo from and how does the screen look like?
- The promo was for magazines and newspapers. On it (1985 version of course) are the black clamshells of Robin Hood, Pinocchio, and Dumbo. Also, there are several new releases in heavy white cases and cardboard slipcover cases. They are all around a castle with the WDHV logo and fireworks, and of course Mickey Mouse. It should be on eBay. --Imax80 00:35, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
No I mean at the end of the disney christmas videos there is a promo at the end and how does it look like?
- No, I have not seen those yet. The only promo I have seen is at the end of tapes made in 1982-83. --Imax80 20:55, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
The Hoilday Promo shows a red backround with a green spikey mickey mouse wreath on the screen. And the announcer says all the christmas titles. After all of them at the top right screen it says collect them all! And That's it! Isn't that spikey mickey mouse wreath scary!
- What video is it on? --Imax80 18:34, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
It's on Sing Along Songs Vol.8 1988 & 1991 prints, Jiminny Cricket's Christmas, One Magic Christmas, Mickey's Christmas carol, Where the toys came from ?, A Walt Disney Christmas, Babes in toyland and I don't know the rest.

[edit] About the Special Preview bumper
I would like to say that my copy of Beauty and the Beast has the special preview bumper and the announcer says "We After, to the Show for a Special Preview! From Walt Disney Home Video."
- What does the annoucer say on your copy IMAX80?
[edit] Under the Clamshell in development!
Yes, and I'm making it funny, good, and abstract! You do mind if I write the thing a little? --The Track Master 18:16, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- You can write to it as well. Here is a piece from it.
- Guy #1: Okay, we have every Disney video ever made, here, I just got "Pete's Dragon" Fotomat Beta 1980. Put it there.
- Guy #2: Collection complete.
- Oracle: Nope.
- Guy #1: No?
- Oracle: Pinocchio 1993 on Beta.
- Guy #2: What? Pinocchio wasn't on Beta in 1993.
- Oracle: Oh yes it was, the only man who has it is a former video store owner, and he has the tape in his house. He heavily guards it and will attack any intruders.
- Guy #1: We just gotta get, come with us, oh wise oracle.
- Oracle: This should be interesting.

- Greatness. --The Track Master 20:55, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

- OK, please allow me to pitch in! I'd like to see it develop. --Ryanasaurus0077 17:23, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] What I'm Sticking with
It's me, Marco, again. Well here are some stuff that I well be sticking with. Green FBI screens being shown in 1991, The Annoucer on the special preview bumper saying "We After, to the Show for a Special Preview! From Walt Disney Home Video.", Dumbo being relessed on the classics collection in 1984, My 1992 tape master of The Rescuers Down Under using the previews for "The Jungle Book" and "Robin Hood" and 1992 FP screen before regular classics logo.
So that's what I'm sticking with! what are you stciking with?
- Dumbo was 1985 because my copy was printed on 8/29/85. No promotion for it being in the Classics line back in 1984. The Robin Hood and Rescuers Down Under tapes are a different story. The FBI screens were created in 1991 because when they master the tape, it's usually 3-5 months before it comes out. Your Robin Hood videotape could be the earliest re-master ever mastered, I bet it was sold sometime in very early January 1992. The Rescuers Down Under, as for that, I have never seen that print because I own the earlier one. For the "We after the show," maybe your tape has a glitch in it, it probably skips something the announcer says before "after, to show." --Imax80 22:01, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- Wow that's different. But what are you sticking with Imax80, Skymac207, The Track Master and Ryanasaurus0077 or any other user of this talk page?
[edit] When was the clean music used on?
Imax80 and all users! When was the clean music used on any 1988 classics varient like the proto-type one, the regular one, or the 1992 version. When did they start clean music and end with clean music. tell me.
That version of the music was used from 1988 to 1992. --Imax80
- What was the first and last moive to have that music?
-
- The first video to have that clean music was Cinderella, and the last was The Great Mouse Detective. Gabrielkat 15:26, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Yes that is correct! It was used from 1988 to 1992!
[edit] Why would disney use green FBI warnings on two relesses in 1991 ?
The resson why Disney used green FBI screens on two tapes in 1991 because they were going to save them until 1992. When they were making the "Robin Hood" and "The Rescuers Down Under" tapes they put the green FBI screens by mistake. So that's why they were made and shown in 1991.
- Or maybe they were testing them. --Imax80 19:29, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yah I guess your right. They must be testing them. Hey why don't you make the FBI warning history as the next artical on this talk page.
[edit] Imaxination80's Guide to Disney Video FBI Screens
Original FBI Warnings
1978-1984
These were the first FBI warnings Disney used. Some variations in 1981-82 has a blue screen saying,"FOR SALE ONLY NOT INTENDED FOR RENTAL" in big yellow letters. The first screen is a blue background with a black rectangle on the side with the FBI logo in white inside of it. Next to it is white text reading off the policy, and "WARNING" above it yellow letters. The next screen is blue as well. The yellow letters in Times font read off the last warning before fading to black like the other screens do. A blue "Duplication" screen was used once in a while.
This is a rare find, it's on several videos. It was first used on the Discovision releases, and then so forth, and ended on 1984 Cartoon Classic releases. --
Original Warnings Variation
1983-1984
Used with the blue Warning screen, this red FBI screen was a box containing the black FBI logo with a white section next to it containing the warning. This is very rare and used on tapes printed in 1983 and 1984.
-- Red FBI Warnings
1984-1991
The first screen is white with red-orange bar to the left. The FBI logo is inside it. Next to this red-orange bar is the warning. The next screen would be on a red-orange background. The warning is in white letters. Sometimes the first screen would slideshow to the next screen instead of fading to black. A Duplication screen was used once during its run.
Seen on several late 1984 releases and up until the early 1990s, when they were having a switchover with the next FBI screens. These are probably some of the easiest screens you can find on a Disney video.
-- Dark FBI Warning Variation
1986-87
The FBI warning is in a white outline, with the FBI logo in white. The warning is inside the box outline, and it's on a dark red background, the next screen is not faded to, but played by slideshow style. The screen is dark red with the simple font saying the warning. A video dealer announcement on an aqua/black background would follow, complete with a male announcer.
Only seen on late 1986 releases and some early 1987 releases.
-- (to be continued by me) --Imax80 19:48, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
- Dude these are great FBI warnings, but I just want you to remember that Green FBI screen were 1991 and put in 1991 instead of 1992. Because that's when there made!
-
- Aren't you going to post the rest of those Disney FBI warnings? Gabrielkat 15:23, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] How Hardcore of a Disney Fan Are You?
Let's see. I have several old video releases. I am basically one of the only teens in my who at least like Disney. I have a lanyard with nearly 20 Disney collectible pins. Tons of Disney merchandise growing up. A framed 1938 drawing of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy from "Boat Builders." I love a huge amount of their films. I have a ton of them on video and DVD. I see new Pixar filsm every time they come. I have a shelve of "Cars" merchandise. I got some Pixar films on DVD before their release date. And the top it all off, I love Disney! --Imax80 20:33, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm...I love Disney movies. Love the whole Disney thing. Don't really like the ones after Mulan. Like the classics before it. --The Track Master 21:51, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What are the differnces between a tape re-master and a re-print
- I'm so comfused about this. But what are the differences between a tape re-master and a re-print? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.95.112.180 (talk • contribs).
-
- Imax80, I think you should be careful about saying things like "re-master" and "new master" because it sounds like a new transfer of the movie from film to video was done, whereas sometimes you are just talking about a logo being changed before the movie starts. When you say "new master" you need to say what was different. (In some cases, the audio track was changed in some way, rather than the picture.) Canadiana 18:19, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- Re-master or new master is when they give the tape new FBI screens/logos/audio etc., and a new label. For instance, the 1985 Pinocchio has what it has. The 1986 version is a new tape master of that title with different logos and quality. Imax80 19:36, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Archive
I need to archive this soon. Can someone help me successfully do this? --Imax80 20:25, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'll archive it for you if you want me to do it. The last discussion (before this one) should probably stay because it is not finished, but I think the others can be archived. Let me know and I'll do it. Canadiana 22:27, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tex
- It might not be a print date sticker. That sticker of some sort was on many of my tapes from Paramount (and some from Universal), including my Star Trek tapes. Have you checked the top of the tape for an odd number-letter combination? Because it was also on many of those tapes as well (3 letters above a triple-digit number including zeroes). --172.167.144.51 00:12, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- The sticker says "VCA" on it. --Imax80 00:14, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- Is there and odd letter-number combination on the top of Tex too? --172.167.144.51 00:29, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
- No, plain blank. --Imax80 00:30, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

I wonder if you could give me pics of the tape labels for your 1986 "Pinocchio", "Robin Hood" and "Sleeping Beauty" videos?
