Category talk:Images created with Blender

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At the last minute, I tacked on the note "Articles in this category contain illustrations created with Blender." But now that I think about it, this could be seen as a potentially selfish use of the category system. Most categories should contextualize the article's content; with categories that are primarily for attribution, "Images created with X software" could become "Images created by Wapcaplet," which I think would definitely be an abuse of the category system. I'm one of the most prominent contributors of Blender illustrations to Wikipedia, so this really does amount to a personal promotion in article space.

I'm pretty new to categories, so if this was a bad move, let me know and I'll keep only images themselves in the category, and leave articles out of it. -- Wapcaplet 20:59, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I realize now why it's better to just put images in the category; the thumbnail view is very cool. I guess I'm just a bit puzzled by "Articles in category...", followed by "There are 0 articles in this category", followed by a bunch of images that are clearly in this category. Is there some way to customize this heading for image-oriented categories? -- Wapcaplet 17:00, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)
