Ilunga Mwepu

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ilunga Mwepu (22 August 1949) is a football player from Zaire, who wore his country colours during 1974 FIFA World Cup. He is most famously known for booting a dead ball away in an attempt to prevent Brazil from scoring a free kick on the match between the two nations that year in the tournament in West Germany. He was subsequently booked; however, he was still oblivious as to what he had done wrong. Zaire had lost their last game 9-0 to Yugoslavia.
