Iluka, New South Wales

Iluka (Clarence River in New South Wales, Australia. It is situated directly across the river from the resort town of Yamba.
) is a small village at the mouth of theIt has long beaches on the ocean side of the river. It is reached by turning off the Grafton-Ballina Road 1.2km north of the northern arm of the Clarence River.
Iluka has a population of about 2500.
Iluka also has a large rainforest. It is one of the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere.It contains many different plant species and also many birds.Unfortunately loggers cut down most of the rainforest to put other trees in and around.
Iluka has a large amount of native animals; kangaroos, echidnas, wombats and koalas occupy most bushland with the emus occuping beaches and bush.
Iluka is a fishing community with many different fishing ways. Mulleting is a major industry in Iluka and with this in 2004 a haul of fish 45 tonnes in two nets were caught by fishermen near Woodford Island.
