Ignazio Saietta

Ignazio Saietta, also known as Ignazio Lupo and as “Lupo The Wolf”, was a Black Hand extortionist and murderer. He was arrested and found guilty in 1910 for operating a large scale counterfeiting ring. Saietta was granted parole in 1920 but 16 years later during the Roosevelt administration, Saietta was sent to the Atlanta federal prison for racketeering. He died in 1944 in Brooklyn after serving a short sentence.

Ignazio is thought to be the inspiration of the Harvey Keitel character "Mr. Wolf" in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction.
