iGate Corporation is an information technology company originally formed in India as Mastech Corporation. The company began global operations on December 17, 1996. The company is now headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The name iGate comes from a technical term referring to an APRS (amateur radio) station connected to the Internet that relays the APRS data it receives locally to central Internet sites.
iGate's operations are divided into three segments. The iGate Solutions subsidy provides data management and warehousing. They also design, develop, and manage business intelligence systems, which organize data and evaluate the feasibility of business decisions. This segment of the company also manages transaction processing and customers service centers. The iGate Professional Service portion of the corporation provides for customer integration and designs important business software programs known as enterprise packaged applications. iGate Corporate oversees client management.
iGate handles business customers over 5 continents. They continue to grow as the business world becomes more dependent on technology.iGate has offices in India at Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
