I currently live in St. Louis, Missouri with my wife and son. This is where I was raised for the most part, although I still recognize Lake Charles, Louisiana as my hometown. Most of my family is from and residing in Louisiana or Texas. My wife's is from St. Louis as is most of her family. She does however have paternal family in Tennessee, one of my favorites states. I attended college and lived in Nashville during the early to mid 90s.
I have been an Ab'Orisa or devotee of the Orisa since 1990. Born into a very spiritual family I experienced Christianity, Nationalist Islam as well as the Kemetic tradition, as taught through Ausar Auset Society during my childhood and adolescent years, before settling down with Orisa worship during my early adulthood.
In addition to spiritual pursuits I took an early interest to meditation and have included as a major part of my spiritual practice since I was 15 years old.
I am the webmaster of Roots and Rooted, the creator of Outstanding Priests of Traditional African Religion, and one of only a few people to ever moderate the Orisa Mailing List.
I was initiated to the Yoruba Orisa Priesthood of Olokun in June 2004.
