if_then_else is an album by the Dutch alternative rock band The Gathering. It was released in Europe in 2000 by Century Media Records.
Its title combines two frequently used computer programming notions:

- "Colorado Incident" is about a real-life experience of having to cancel a gig in Colorado due to overbooking, exhaustion and the band being sick from a cold. Fans were frustrated, and the band was later very apologetic about this "incident".
- An extract of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland is used between "Analog Park" and "Herbal Movement".
