[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!
Hello Ief, welcome to Wikipedia!
Here are some tips:
- Take a look at the Simplified Ruleset.
- Read the Tutorial, How to edit a page and the Manual of Style.
- Find out how to revert, move and merge pages.
- Sign your posts on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~).

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.
If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, Alf 19:29, 26 August 2005 (UTC).
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Oriole Park at Camden Yards.JPG
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Oriole Park at Camden Yards.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. tomf688 (talk - email) 14:35, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:SixtusI.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SixtusI.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 23:16, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Emblem of the Maldives
Hello lef,
I noticed that you are changing Maldives National Emblem.svg, on articles its being used, to Coat of arms of Maldives.png. The latter version is highly distorted and mis-represents the actual and official version of the Emblem. Therefore I am reverting your edits. Thanks --Oblivious 22:41, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Netherlands
Hi, I've reverted the map you just added to Netherlands. We're currently trying to reach consensus over the new maps at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Countries. Your input is welcome there. Cheers, Niels|en talk-nl talk (faster response)| 01:37, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edit Summary
Dep. Garcia (Talk to Me) 18:15, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Logo of Racing FC Union Luxembourg
The logo that you've uploaded (Image:Racing FC Union Luxembourg.png) is not the logo of the current club, but actually that of Union Luxembourg, one of its predecessors. The logo of the present club can be found here. I can't upload at the moment, so could you replace this, please? You could then re-upload the Union Luxembourg image (e.g. under the name 'Union Luxembourg logo') to add to that article. Bastin 15:25, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] FA Premier League club logos
I see you edited the league table in FA Premier League 2006-07, adding in the logos of the respective clubs. Although I like the idea very much, these images are copyrighted and claimed for fair use, which means that they can only be used on the club's actual page, and thus I had no choice but to remove them from the article. These copyright laws are all explained on each logo's page. See Image:Arsenal FC.png for an example. Ross1 23:11, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the same is true of the Luxembourg National Division article. Bastin 00:06, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reverted your edit to Pedro Carmona
I reverted your edit to Pedro Carmona because there is not a clear criterium to number Venezuelan Presidents. In Venezuela, unlike the USA, we never put ordinals to the Presidents. I would suggest the more conservative approach of not putting numbers in the infoboxes. Thanks. — JRSP 19:27, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
