The 2700 Class is a type of two car Diesel Multiple Unit used by Iarnród Éireann. The units were built by GEC Alsthom in 1998 and 1999. Each unit weighs 38.5 tons and is fitted with a 350hp underfloor engine with a maximum permitted speed of 75mph in service. At present some operate in the Cork, Limerick and Kerry regions, replacing older locomotive hauled rolling stock on the Limerick - Limerick Junction shuttle, and the Mallow to Tralee branch line.

Twenty seven units were built, numbered 2701 to 2724, 2726, 2751 and 2752 (there is no 2725). 2751 and 2752 have a cab at either end so can operate as single units. Even numbered units have 62 seats while odd numbered units contain 55 seats and a toilet. There are some exceptions however; 2751 and 2752 have 53 seats, due to having a cab at both sides, while 2719 and 2721 were modified to 50 seats and a bicycle storage area. They were originally delivered in the black and orange Arrow livery but were repainted into the present Commuter livery in 2004.

2716 was damaged in a collision on June 3rd, 2000 and has been stopped since then.

The 2700 Class bear a visible similarity to the British Rail Class 158 DMU but the two classes are completely unrelated and from different manufacturers.
