IDW Publishing (a division of Idea and Design Works) is an American comic book company. The company was founded in 1999 and has been awarded the title "Publisher of the Year" for the last three years (2004, 2005, & 2006) by Diamond Comic Distributors.

The company was initially known for horror comics such as 30 Days of Night, Dark Days and numerous others. Some of the most well-known writers of horror comics, including Ashley Wood, Ben Templesmith and Steve Niles, have written for IDW. The company now specialize more in comics based on current TV franchises such as 24, Angel and the numerous CSI shows. Most recently, they have acquired the Transformers license from Hasbro and have hired fan-favorites such as Simon Furman, Don Figueroa and E. J. Su to work on them. In addition, as part of their deal with CBS/Paramount, IDW will be working on a new Star Trek title.[1][2]
