[edit] Side-effects

I see you're editing side-effects to a number of drug articles. When doing so, could you turn the most important ones into Wikilinks ([[itch]] for example)? Thank you. JFW | T@lk 14:45, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Also, please don't address the reader ("talk to your doctor" etc.) The reader may not be taking trazodone. JFW | T@lk 14:46, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

I see you are still following pretty much the same pattern. Wikipedia does not give health advice, so saying "talk to your doctor, seek medical help" is regarded as unencyclopedic. Similarly, it would be great if you could wikify (add wikilinks) to the lists of reported side-effects. Finally, please cite your sources. Putting a link in the "external links" section is not typically regarded as sufficient.

We have a very active WikiProject Drugs, and your input and help would be very much appreciated. JFW | T@lk 15:00, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright status of images

I see you are uploading logos of commonly used medications. There is probably no problem with that, apart from the fact that you're not giving a copyright status on the upload. I suspect they would be fair use, but unless you assert this as such the images will end up being deleted. JFW | T@lk 15:31, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm really sorry about that but I don't see the 'License' Field when uploading the images!!. Which option I have to select? General -> Public Domain is correct? or maybe is better "found the image somewhere" or "Logo"

How could I change the "LICENSE" for the images uploadesd before!? I wanna put somethig like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Astrazeneca_Logo_bigger.png

"unless you assert this as such the images will end up being deleted" - says JFW

Please don't do that there is a lot of logos and it costs a lot of time to bring them to the wikipedia, please let me know how I could changue the license and I'll do that for all the logos that i have uploaded.

This page lists all the possible things which images can be tagged with, by editing the image's page (go to the image and select "edit this page" at the top, you can change the text there. Add the appropriate tag as listed along with any other explanation to the page. e.g. put {{Military-Insignia}} in the text of the page and it will be expanded out into the appropriate explanation of the copyright regarding Military Insignia. You have to choose the correct license to use, don't just guess, with copyright issues if you aren't sure it's usable, don't use it. --pgk(talk) 16:48, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

It seems Pgk has given the answer above. Please do not put messages about the image copyright status on the pages on which they are used. That is the point in having an Image: namespace. JFW | T@lk 21:48, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't understand it, here says that we hace to do bouth:

This should be done in two places. Firstly, add the following hidden text in the article:

<!-- FAIR USE of IMAGENAME.jpg: see image description page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:IMAGENAME.jpg for rationale -->

Secondly, add rationale text to the image description page, beyond the information mentioned above. This fair use rationale text can be in the following format (the following are just basic examples, you must write your own specific text, do not copy this text for that purpose):

Ok, now I think that I had misunderstood it! But it is really ambiguous, are you sure?!

You may actually be right - fair use has additional stringencies. I normally draw my own graphics, so I haven't run into this problem. Fair use images are only allowed on directly relevant pages. This explains why a double link is required. Well done, sorry for confusing you. JFW | T@lk 23:00, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for doing the Riluzole logo, I actually contacted the manufacturers twice to ask their permission and they never got back to me! --PaulWicks 13:18, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Diflunisal.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Diflunisal.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Leukeran.gif)

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Leukeran.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 23:02, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
