Ice cream parlor
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ice cream parlors are places that sell ice cream and frozen yogurt to consumers. Ice cream is normally sold in two varieties in these stores: soft-serve ice cream (normally with just chocolate, vanilla, and "twist", a mix of the two), and hard-packed, which has an assortment of flavors, as well as frozen yogurt, which is a low-fat alternative and tastes slightly different than ice cream. Ice cream and frozen yogurt are sold in ice cream cones, sundaes, and milkshakes. Some parlors may also sell gelato, ice cream cakes, and ice cream bars at these places. In addition to ice cream and frozen yogurt, ice cream parlors may even sell a variety of hot foods.
While parlors remain open all year round in warmer weather locations, most parlors are open during warmer months, particularry from March to November, in colder weather locations, though some do stay open year round. Parlors vary from having an order-up window with outside seating to an entire indoor location.
