Ice Hockey at the 1986 Winter Asian Games took place in the city of Sapporo, Japan. Only four nations competed in the sport: China, Japan, the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Each team was given two games with each of the other teams. A team gained two points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a loss. The team that gained the most points is awarded the gold medal.
