Abu-l ‘Abbas Ahmad ibn Khallikan (Arabic: أبو العباس أحمد ابن خلكان), ( Born September 22, 1211 - October 30, 1282) was a Muslim Kurdish scholar of the 13th century. He was born in Irbil, in 1211. His most famous work is Wafayat al-Ayan (The Obituaries of Eminent Men) known as The Biographical Dictionary. He died in Damascus.
