Iberville, Quebec
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Iberville is a town in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada, on the east side of the Richelieu River, across from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. It is about 30 miles (50 km) from Montreal, and about the same distance from the United States border at the head of Lake Champlain.
Since 2001, Iberville is no longer an independent municipality, but is a district of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.
The last mayor of Iberville was Jean Rioux, who later became a Liberal MP in the Quebec Parliament.
