Ian is not his first name... does anyone know?

[edit] Mention of Wikipedia

Punnett once mentioned Wikipedia on his show. A caller mentioned Wikipedia and Punnett said something like "the Wikipedia says something very strange about me." What this was, I have no idea. Theshibboleth 08:01, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

LOL! What happened was that I email him the Coast to Coast AM entry which described Ian as "bringing a very liberal viewpoint to the the show" which totaly gets Ian wrong. Ian is open minded but leans very conservative. I think his exact quote on the show was (talking to his wife) "wikipedia, I showed you that, it's that online encylopedia that totally got me wrong". The Coast to Coast Am entry has since been updated. --Schalicto 20:14, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

I see. Well, if someone could incorporate the following email exchange into the article it would be appreciated. That he considers himself not to be liberal is important, but I'm not sure how to source the statement, or if I wanted to cite the whole email in the article, how to get it to format correctly.

  • Text of an email to Ian...

"It sure is funny. I'll have to save this for my left wing friends who get so mad at me.

God bless, Punnett

I was just reading over the Wikipedia entry for Coast to Coast Am and I thought I would bring this paragraph to your attention...

"Prior to George Noory becoming the weekday host of the show, the show was usually guest-hosted by either Ian Punnet or Barbara Simpson on weekends. As previously stated Barbara Simpson still occasionally guest-hosts although Hilly Rose is now far more commonly the guest-host when one is needed. Ian Punnet has left the show to become a religious Minister although he has come back a select few times to guest-host. Ian Punnet was known for often expressing a left-wing point of view on the show whereas Barbara Simpson was known for her right-wing point of view. This is in lieu of the fact that although the show is very rarely expressedly political, political undercurrents often purvey the show, especially in regards to conspiracy theories."

When I used to listen to you on Coast to Coast I would never have described you as "expressing a left-wing point of view". I just thought that was funny.

[edit] The Ferrit

  • I don't get to listen to coast to coast these days. Why is he called "The Ferrit"? --Schalicto 00:41, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Tasty Canadians" is getting old.

It's not really very witty to begin with, and it gets very tiresome after hearing it for the 200th time.Landroo 01:02, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
