Ian Ross is the presenter of the Sydney bulletin of Seven News. Commonly known as "Roscoe", Ross began his career in 1957 at Sydney radio station 2GB. Ian returned to Sydney as National Nine News reporter in 1965. Ross stayed at Nine for 38 years, where he is most known for his position as Today news presenter.
One of the greatest challenges Ian faced as a journalist was during the devastating 1994 bushfires in Sydney. He presented the news live from the fire front while his own home, situated next to a national park that was considered a fire "hot spot", was in constant danger.
Ross joined Channel Seven in 2004 to head the station's flagship 6.00pm bulletin. With the help of Ross, Seven News became Sydney's number one news in 2005. Ross currently only hosts Sydney's edition of Seven News from Monday to Thursday, with Chris Bath hosting the news on Friday and weekends.
