Ian Cundy

Ian Patrick Martyn Cundy (born 23 April 1945) is a British Anglican priest and the current Bishop of Peterborough.

The son of Henry Martyn and Kathleen Ethel Cundy was educated in the Monkton Combe School, in Trinity College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and theology in 1967, and a Master of Arts. He made his General Ordination Exam in Tyndale Hall, Bristol in 1969.

From 1969 to 1973, Cundy was assistant curate of the Christ Church, New Malden, from 1973 to 1977 lecturer and chaplain of Oak Hill College, Southgate and from 1978 to 1983 team rector in Mortlake and East Sheen. In 1983, he became warden of Cranmer Hall, St John's College, Durham, a post held until 1992. He was Suffragan Bishop of Lewes in the Diocese of Chichester between 1992 and 1996, and is 37th Bishop of Peterborough since 1996.

Cundy has been married to Josephine Katherine Boyd since 1969; they have two sons and one daughter.
