Iaşi Airport (IATA: IAS, ICAO: LRIA) serves the city of Iaşi, one of Romania's biggest municipalities, yet has the shortest runway of all the commercial airports in Romania (only 1780 m); that doesn't allow the access for large aircraft. The new terminal building, though, is among the most functionals in Romania. The airport serves both Iaşi and Vaslui counties and it is the second important airport in Moldavia region after Bacău Airport.
