More than likely, the lyrics to the song are under copyright, (see: Wikipedia:Lyrics and poetry), nor is it especially necessary to include the entire text anyway. --Easter Monkey 08:07, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] American Idol

I don't think Chris Daughtry or anyone at Idol ever said that his rendition was based on Live. The performance being based on Live is an opinion I only see by some viewers. --SCSI Commando 03:33, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

That opinion is based on listening to the recording by Live, which is pretty much identical to Chris's rendition. Logophile 17:16, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cocaine

Although i have no online source, i have a recording from my live interview with Cash in 93 that can substantiate this, if needed to get this fact on to an apparently biased against drug addiction board, i will convert it to mp3 and upload it for any conservative censoring users of wikipedia.

We're not "biased against drug addiction". Look at Johnny Cash. All that we're asking for is Wikipedia:Reliable Source because everything written on Wikipedia should be verifiable. It's an encyclopedia after all. --  Netsnipe  (Talk)  07:21, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
  • The epinions.com article is not a valid source in this case -- it simply reflects another person's opinion, not documented proof of a connection with this song and cocaine. Until you have proof, please do not continue to edit this article. ~~ Meeples 07:24, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Once you convert it to mp3 and let us listen to it, then we can see if it has any basis. Wahkeenah 12:04, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
The fact that Cash was addicted to drugs is not disputed by any serious person, and is well-documented on Wikipedia. So it's mysterious what bias you're perceiving. He himself discussed his addiction to amphetemines explicitly in his memoirs. It's cocaine use specifically that is, as far as I know, a novel claim. --Stellmach 14:35, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
