I Useta Lover
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I Useta Lover is a 1991 song by Irish rock group The Saw Doctors. It is the second single off the If This Is Rock and Roll, I Want My Old Job Back album. It stayed at the #1 position in the Irish chart for a record 9 weeks, despite efforts by the Catholic Church to get the record banned. The song contained lyrics describing the singers lust for a girl whilst in church (I used to see her up the chapel when she went to Sunday mass/And when she went up to receive I'd kneel down there and watch her pass/The glory of her ass). A similar anti-clerical message is seen in other Saw Doctors songs, notably "Bless Me Father" and "Tommy K".
