I Stay Away is the first single off American grunge band Alice in Chains's second EP Jar of Flies. It reached #10 on the Modern Rock Tracks. It is notably softer than Alice in Chains's previous recordings on both Facelift and Dirt. It also uses a great deal of instrumentation that Alice In Chains had previously not attempted, including horns and string instruments.
[edit] Music Video
The music video to the song has been said to be the band's best. It is entirely stop-motion animation, featuring the band members in puppet form in a circus. The video was directed by Nick Domkin.
It was also featured on an episode of Beavis & Butthead
