I Stand Alone was released in 1987 by Agnetha Fältskog. This was the 3rd and last of her 1980s solo albums in English and the last major , or at least studio release until her comeback in 2004 with My Colouring Book.
The album was produced by the Peter Cetera who was the lead of the US group Chicago and he duetted with Agnetha on I Wasn't The One (Who Said Goodbye) (#93 Pop and #19 Adult Contemporary in the U.S.). Co-producer was Bruce Gaitsch with whom Agnetha had an affair at the time of the album.
The style of the music was very different to the European origins of her previous two 1980s solo efforts and reflected the West Coast USA influences of the producers.
For the cover of the album and promotional interviews Agnetha appeared in a "new look" with spiky blonde hair (later copied by Faith Hill at one time.
Agnetha made a very rare trip on a plane to LA to cut the record. After it was done, she never flew again, because of her much-publicised fear of flying. She did admit the flight was worth it.
