I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry is a comedy film starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Jessica Biel, Dan Aykroyd, Steve Buscemi and Tila Tequila and directed by Dennis Dugan, who also directed Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, and The Benchwarmers. Universal Pictures will produce the film. It represents Sandler and Universal's third collaboration and their first movie together in eleven years. Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor are writing the screenplay, their first screenplay together since winning the Best Adapted Screenplay Academy Award for 2004's Sideways. The film will debut on July 20, 2007. This film may be a remake of the 1965 film Strange Bedfellows, which had another remake in 2006 about two Australians pretending to be a gay couple for tax benefits.

Two straight, single Philadelphia firefighters (Adam Sandler & Kevin James) pretend to be a gay couple in order to receive domestic partner benefits. Biel plays the love interest to Sandler's character while Aykroyd is the firehouse's chief and Buscemi is an investigative official who becomes suspicious of the firefighters.
