"I Miss You" is the second single from blink-182's 2003 untitled album. It was released in February 2004. In the music video, they play at a haunted mansion. The video was also featured on their 2005 Greatest Hits album.
The song reached #1 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart and peaked at #42 on the Billboard Hot 100. Although "All The Small Things" had more radio airplay, "I Miss You" sold more singles, having been certified platinum after selling over 1 million singles.
The video directed by Jonas Åkerlund was shot in a house, and the band members were made to wear make-up to give a ghostly feel. It also features Mark Hoppus playing an upright bass, although the song was likely recorded on a bass with flat wound strings. Live, Hoppus played a reissue Fender Bass VI, further adding to the confusion as to exactly which bass was used in the song.
The song is played on a B Major scale.
The song also features references to Tim Burton's 1993 cult film The Nightmare Before Christmas, with "We can live like Jack and Sally" and "We'll have Halloween on Christmas"
