I Heard a Voice is the first live DVD from AFI that was released on December 12, 2006. The concert was filmed at the Long Beach Arena in Long Beach, California on Friday, September 15, 2006. Part of the SeptemberUnderground Tour, the crowd was the largest AFI had ever played with over 13,000 people in attendance.

Throughout the week before the release, the concert film will be shown as a screening in various cities. Attendants will receive a limited edition two-sided poster.

The concert was shot in HD with more than 23 cameras.

The song "A Single Second" will feature a guest performance by Nick 13 of the band Tiger Army. Nick 13 sung the harmonic vocals in the song.

Special features on the DVD include interviews with Despair Faction members and a photo gallery. The DVD will also include 5.1 audio mixes.

It also includes a special appearance by legendary carpenter, Michael Rogers, during the end credits.
