[edit] The Self-Referencing I Ching : using the I Ching to describe itself
The following material is drawn from analysis of the binary sequence of the hexagrams where the hexagrams are derived from recursion of yin/yang and so showing a property of the method - the hexagrams are all linked together and contribute to the expression of, the description of, each hexagram.
- The skeletal form of hexagram 62 is described by analogy to the under-exaggerated properties of hexagram 30 where we have a generic focus on guidance and direction-setting. In 62 this skeleton is filled-in with a focus on maintaining loyalty to the collective through the promotion of traditions etc even if past their 'best before' or 'use by' date. In the binary sequence 62 pairs with 56. Both cover issues of loyalty with 62 being unconditional, 56 more conditional.
