[edit] Lyrics

"I've Been Tired" describes a disjointed conversation between the singer and an unnamed woman in the first and second verses, but the song changes to describing her in the third and fourth verses. The song showcases Francis' weird sense of humour and also refers to the Velvet Underground singer, Lou Reed.

[edit] Performances

"I've Been Tired" is a concert regular and features in many of the Pixies' setlists, despite not one of their more notable songs. The song is included on the Pixies DVD (in a video of a 1988 concert), but is not included on the album Wave of Mutilation: Best of Pixies.[1]

[edit] Other media

M. Night Shyamalan used the Come on Pilgrim version of the song for his film Unbreakable. The song plays in a comic book store that the near-catatonic Elijah Price trashes, much to the clerk's consternation.
