From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hywel Foel (fl. c. 1240-1300) was a welsh language poet.

Hywel’s only surving work, is an awdl which laments the capture and imprisonment of Owain ap Gruffydd at Dolbadarn castle. This awdl is recorded in the Hendregadredd manuscript and is noted for being the first reference to Snowdonia in Welsh poetry.
