The Hyundai Sirius engine is the company's largest straight-4 at 1.8 L to 2.4 L.

There are two different 1.8 L Sirius engines, the G4CM and G4CN. The G4CM (also called the 1.8 S) is the SOHC version. It displaces 1796 cc from a bore of 80.6 mm and a stroke of 88 mm. Output is 97 hp (72 kW) at 5500 RPM and 104 ft.lbf (141 Nm) at 4500 RPM.

The G4CN (also called the 1.8 D) is the other 1.8 L Sirius, a DOHC unit displacing 1836 cc with an 81.5 mm bore. Output is 125 hp (93 kW) at 6000 RPM and 116 ft.lbf (157 Nm) at 4500 RPM.

The 2.0 L (1997 cc) G4CP engine is available in SOHC (2.0 S) and DOHC (2.0 D) versions. Bore remains the same on both at 85 mm with stroke shared with the 1.8 at 88 mm. SOHC power is 102 hp (76 kW) at 5000 RPM and torque is 117 ft.lbf (159 Nm) at 4000 RPM. The dual-cam version produces 133 hp (99 kW) at 6000 RPM and 134 ft.lbf (181 Nm) at 4500 RPM.

The large G4JS (also called the 2.4 D ) is the 2.4 L (2351 cc) engine. Engine dimensions are different from other Sirius blocks at 86.5 mm (bore) and 100 mm (stroke). Output is 149 hp (103 kW) at 5500 RPM with 157 ft.lbf (199 Nm) of torque at 3000 RPM. It has a cast iron engine block and aluminum DOHC cylinder heads. It uses MFI fuel injection, has 4 valves per cylinder and features forged steel connecting rods.
