Hyposulfite

Hyposulfite, SO22−, is a polyatomic ion of sulfur and oxygen. SO22− is also a oxoanion, which refers to a negative ion which contains one or more oxygen atoms. Its compounds, the hyposulfites, are unstable and readily decompose.
Hyposulfite is also used to refer to the thiosulfate ion, S2O32−.
